Keys to Keyboarding Labs I & II
Keyboard
Instructor: Nneka Maiurro
The Keys to Keyboarding Labs offer students the opportunity to learn touch typing on the QWERTY keyboard.
Keys to Keyboarding Lab I is recommended for students with little to no experience using the QWERTY keyboard. In Lab I the main focus is on finding the letters while introducing the students to proper posture while typing. Correct fingering is not discussed in Lab I and typing progress is not tracked. This lab is most appropriate for 2nd and 3rd graders.
Keys to Keyboarding Lab II is recommended for students with some familiarity with the QWERTY keyboard and/or students who use computers to complete school assignments. In Lab II proper touch typing is emphasized including correct fingering, accuracy, and speed. Equally important in Lab II is the emphasis on using proper posture, wrist, and hand positioning. This lab is most appropriate for students in 3rd grade and above.

KICKARO’S Martial Arts “Tiger Program”

This is a fun-filled, highly-energized beginner martial arts class that will give your child the confidence needed to excel in all other activities,…including school!!! We will strive to improve your child’s gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and attention span…all while having a BLAST learning various kicks, punches, and blocks found in our studio’s beginner program.

Soccer

Description: Classes build basic soccer skills (dribbling, passing, trapping, scoring) and develop a sense of confidence on the field. Players will also learn sportsmanship and team play. Some small-sided, yet non-competitive soccer games are played to enhance learning how to apply skills in game situations.

Instructor: NSCF Director Jim Santorelli
Description: Jim is a highly experienced chess instructor. He is a Director of the NSCF. Jim is an USCF Expert who emphasizes strategy and planning in his chess and in his well-prepared classroom lectures. Jim teaches chess throughout the Westchester and Lower Connecticut area. He coaches the Greenburgh School team and heads the Saturday Scarsdale chess classes. He has been teaching chess for over 20 years and can count 13 National Champions among his students.

Description: ZUMBA FITNESS FOR KIDS (ZUMBATOMIC) classes are rockin’, high-energy fitness -parties packed with specially choreographed kid-friendly routines, and all the music children love, like hip-hop, reggae ton, cumbia and more. Parents will love the effects it has on their children. It increases their focus and self-confidence, boosts metabolism and enhances coordination. At Hudson Country Montessori, children ages 5 and up are having fun, and working out at the same time. With Zumba children get all the benefits that exercise provide.

Cooking Art Class
Instructor: Malakah Shabazz-Williamns
Description: Creative Cooking with Ms.Malakah, embraces not just the love of food but it's artistry. Two new classes are being introduced ,Food Fun for beginners (grades 1-3)offers proper food prep, making good food choices and creating a menu that they will love. I will also be offering a Food Art class( intermediate for grades 4-8) here,students will be encouraged to see the beauty in food, creating food sculptures and pastry art. Along with tablescapes , manners and etiquette .These classes promise to be not just en lighting but yummy!
