- Primary- Kindergarten: Friday 11:30-12:30pm
- Infant / Toddler: Friday 10:00-11:00am
These Orientations are for parents of all new and returning students. Students and parents will visit their classroom after the ‘meet their teacher’ meeting, see new and old friends and to hear how the classroom is structured throughout the day.
Infant – Lower Elementary students will go outside while parents are in the gym for the first half hour during the ‘meet their teacher’ meeting. (There will be staff outside to care for the students.)
All Upper Elementary – Middle School students will attend the Orientation with their families in the gym.
Why attend an Orientation?
Orientations at Hudson Country Montessori gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to hear how the school operates on a day to day basis.
The Head of School begins the meeting with a brief discussion on the purpose of a Montessori program and a summary of the school’s goals for the year. The Director will go over simple rules that are expected through out the year, i.e. dress code, attendance, when the day begins, parent participation, etc.
Following these comments, parents are invited to go to their children’s rooms to visit the classroom. Each Head Teacher will address the parents as a group to review the room layout, identify key pieces of materials the children are using and to present his/her personal class goals for the year. Teachers will also give you the Montessori vocabulary so that you can have meaningful conversations about school with your children.
If you have two children, it is strongly suggested that each parent visit a different classroom and that you share notes later that day.
Please do your best to attend these days.
