Testimonials from our New Rochelle Families
At Hudson Country Montessori School’s New Rochelle, NY campus, the voices of our families are central to understanding the heart of our school community. Below are testimonials from parents who have chosen HCMS for their children and who generously share their experiences. These reflections highlight what makes our school special, including our supportive environment, dedicated teachers, and the ways our programs help children grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
"When our daughter first started Kindergarten at our local public school, we quickly realized that a traditional public school environment was not the right fit for her. She is especially strong in math and was often bored and under-challenged. She also learns in her own unique way, and we wanted a school that would truly understand how she thinks and processes information.
Since coming to Hudson Country Montessori School, she has truly thrived. Now in 5th grade, she is consistently challenged in math and is working nearly two grade levels above in that subject. Instead of repeating material she has already mastered, she is encouraged to move forward, dig deeper, and fully engage with concepts that stretch her thinking. Her teachers have taken the time to understand how she learns best, and that individualized approach has made an incredible difference in both her confidence and her academic growth.
Beyond academics, she has formed meaningful friendships and feels a genuine sense of belonging. The community is supportive and respectful, and students are encouraged to collaborate, take initiative, and grow as leaders. We have watched her become not only a stronger student, but a more confident and thoughtful young person.
We are so grateful for the academic rigor, personalized attention, and strong sense of community at HCMS, and we are excited to see her continue her journey into 6th grade at the middle school here."
“I wanted to thank you and your staff for the wonderful experience our family had at camp these past few months. Lucas always came home full of excitement and eager to share the activities of the day. My husband and I appreciated your patient and engaging staff, especially the warm welcome Lucas received each morning as he was picked up from the car. We hope to join you again next summer, both for Lucas and for his little sister, Olivia.”
“I was at Hudson for 12 years, obviously I do not remember my years in the toddler program, but my experience in the Hudson middle school changed my academic goals and motives. For five years I was in Mrs. Rambuk’s class, and each year brought a vast improvement to my knowledge and abilities. Mrs. Rambuk and Ms. Wilheim challenged me both academically and mentally, changing not only my academic confidence, but also my ability to be a role model and leader. My greatest advantage while going into high school was a value that is key in Montessori thought, time management. Stemming from the weekly work-plans of middle school, my time management of homework assignments and in-class assignments is greater than that of my other classmates. Several of my teachers are shocked at how quickly I am able to finish assignments, and I know that I have my Hudson teachers to thank for that trait. Hudson also allows students to have a peace-of-mind, freedom in their work, and a drive for the subject that they are learning. All three of these characteristics linger with my thoughts of Hudson, and I believe that it is rare to find a school that makes a student ambitious and passionate. Hudson was truly like a second home to me, whenever I was in need of support I knew that whether it was someone in the front office or even one of my former teachers, someone would be there for me. I am greatly appreciative for my years at Hudson, and I will always be proud to say I’m a Hudson alumni.”
"As a parent, it’s the greatest feeling in the world to see your children develop a love of learning. What we have appreciated most about Hudson is the focus on building a strong academic foundation at an early age while nurturing self-confidence and kindness towards others. We have two daughters, one in the Primary Program and one in the Toddler Program, and each day they come home from Hudson bursting with new knowledge and the brightest smiles. At four and a half, our older daughter has learned to write, read basic stories, count beyond 100, and so much more. Our younger daughter, almost two, is learning to communicate her needs and play with other children. Both girls have developed a sense of independence while also being part of the vibrant Hudson community."
“It seems that camp is a big hit with Wylie and Dash! They have been so excited to share about their days when we get home. Thank you for creating such a great experience.”
